Boring, boring, boring! That is the best way to describe the overall winter weather. The Northeast might not agree as they are getting dumped on by a winter storm. The red-line on the chart below shows the average 12 month strip price of natural gas since the beginning of October. The blue bubble is the current price. The price has increased about $.20 from the beginning of winter. That’s not much given lower drilling activity and lower storage numbers.
Strategy Advice – Given that 2016 had record low pricing and winter has given consumers a break, strongly consider long term positions before summer heat kicks in.
